Rarely do I read about teenage romances and love however something about this book, Blemishing The Odds by Harish Penumarthi itched me to try and read.
What this book is all about?
- It talks about life and the typical teenage crushes and infatuation. However does it last?
- Certain experiences shape us. Do we change or do we remain the same?
- If love is trying then do we try to love more or less?
- How seriously can one do something for the family though it may be the opposite of what we are?
This book explores myriad shades of love – teenage, infatuation, parental, soulmate love and more. This book brings into the readers’ mind the different aspects of love without becoming too obsessed with it and without straying away from the storytelling.
The end however left me dangling though I knew the answer. Was it a deliberate move Harish? Or is it a setup to make a sequel of this book? Well, I leave this for Harish to answer. 😀
This quote sums up the story very appropriately:
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
― Lao Tzu
And yes I read the book in one go. Catch it from Amazon and do read it!
